Corvidae Lenore Syrah 2018, Columbia Valley

Home > Red - All wines > Red - Syrah and Petite Sirah > Corvidae Lenore Syrah 2018, Columbia Valley

Corvidae is the Latin name for the family of birds that includes the Crow, Raven, Jay and Magpie. These “dark” birds are everywhere in the vineyards of Eastern Washington. Their reputation as crafty, adaptable, and somewhat dubious characters is a fitting icon for the suspiciously terrific value wines from this region. The geology and climate here yields rich, complex fruit, with luscious fragrance and bright acidity.  Sourced from several vineyards throughout the Yakima Valley and the Horse Heaven Hills, the Lenore Syrah is powerful and intensely concentrated. The hillside vines in Yakima contribute fragrance, texture, and purity of fruit flavors. The depth of flavor belies the paltry price-point. Pair this crowd pleasing wine with barbecued babyback ribs, a hearty lamb stew or your favorite burger. Of course she’s a beauty on her own as well.

    $24.00

A caretaker of trees, The Arborist pays homage to the iconic Paso Robles oaks.

This estate blend is made mainly of varieties grown in our Huerhuero Vineyard, located directly behind the winery in the rolling hills of Paso Robles. Here, warm afternoons and cool evening breezes shepherd the grapes to perfect ripeness.

The wine was aged in both small and large format French, Hungarian and American oak barrels for 18 months in order to add complexity while enhancing a soft, velvety finish. This fruitforward wine is a natural go-to for just about any meal.

Starting off in the glass with a lovely dark garnet color, you’ll love the aromas of Cherries and plum with hints of spice, fine tobacco and chocolate. The Vina Robles Arborist 2018 is medium bodied with dark stone fruit, fleshy textured tannins into the finish. 41% Syrah, 35% Petite Sirah, 12% Grenache, 12% Tannat.
Through a partnership with One Tree Planted, Vna Robles plants one tree for every bottle of The Arborist sold.
