The Rabble Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 comes from the Mossfire Ranch in Paso Robles. Mossfire Ranch is a scenic 320-acre property on the Pleasant Valley Wine Trail, in the eastern side of the Paso Robles AVA. Admired for its striking beauty, epic views and superior fruit, the 243 planted acres boast an eclectic mix of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Zinfandel and Tempranillo. A farmer’s fist full of blueberry pie sprinkled with cinnamon spice. Concentrated blue fruit explodes with boysenberry giving way to anise, clove, subtle smoky wet earth. Velvet tannins balance the juicy mouth feel and a finish that lasts late into the evening.

99 points, RP “…Flirting with perfection, this wine boasts blueberry and blackberry notes, spring flowers a hint of charcoal and subtle toast, a full-bodied mouthfeel and stunning concentration.”Intense blackberry liqueur and espresso bean develop into rose and truffle oil aromas as the wine opens. Creamy and opulent, flavors of semi-sweet chocolate, mocha, and plum layer the front and mid-palate. A beam of fresh minerality (archetypal Stags Leap District character) frames the long silky finish. Decanting is recommended. Revisit over 24 hours as new layers develop with time.
