Malm Cross Blend 2016, Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma County, CA$29.00
The Malm Cross Blend 2016 is a blend of Cabernet, Merlot, Cabernet Franc with a bit of Zinfandel and Petit Sirah blended in. Malm Cellars has become one of Sonoma County's best kept secrets! Nearly every activity here including vineyard management, crafting, production, and product distribution, revolves around one man, ex-Sonoma State soccer star turned winemaker, Brendan Malm. Malm's wines quickly exploded onto the oenophile stage, when a bottle drawn from his first barrel captured gold medal honors at the prestigious Orange County Fair. Fifteen years later, Malm Cellars wines are sought after by collectors and connoisseurs alike. The nose blooms first with red cherry, ripe plum and cocoa. The palate is explosive, lush ripe fruits give way to supple tannin, layers of chocolate covered cherries with a touch of peppery spice and firm yet restrained structure. The strong finish lingers with a touch of berries and plum.
