Elyse Zinfandel 2013, Korte Ranch, Napa Valley, California, USA$41.00Add to cart
Korte Ranch is located just north of the town of St. Helena along the Napa River on Ehlers Lane. It is truly one of the most distinctive and classic Zinfandel vineyards left in Napa Valley with the vines that Elyse Winery sources from being a minimum of 70 years old. It has been family owned for four generations and was a bonded winery before prohibition. The gnarly old head trained, dry farmed vines are planted where the eastern and western hillsides meet. This beautiful property is perfectly suited for high quality grape growing from the cool morning and nighttime temperatures to the loose soils of rocky loam which help make wine of unique and bold character. The Elyse Zinfandel 2013, Korte Ranch is beautifully deep garnet colored with intriguing aromas of black plum, blackberry pie, caramel, cinnamon, galangal root, incense, clove and orange zest. Lavishly textured with generous flavors of sweet blackberry, blueberry, cassis and the slightest hint of cracked black pepper and spice. Smooth entry with a broad mouthfeel, rich fruit and well integrated tannins lead to a finish that is long and lingering. 92 Points Wine Enthusiast. 1165 cases made.
L’Ecole No. 41 Frenchtown 2016$26.00Add to cart
Frenchtown, Walla Walla Valley’s first settlement, was founded by French Canadians in the early 1800s. A thriving viticulture and wine making community was established in the Valley by the 1860s. This Frenchtown wine salutes these pioneers. The 2016 vintage was one of the warmest vintages for Washington, rivaling 2003 and 1998, with slightly lower yields due to smaller berry size. The L'Ecole No. 41 Frenchtown 2016 shows aromas of wild berries, fresh plum, black currant and baking spice. The generous dark fruit flavors stay bright and focused through an integrated finish. 41% Merlot 14% Syrah 28% Cabernet Sauvignon 9% Grenache 5% Malbec 3% Cabernet Franc.
Truchard Estate Syrah 2017, Carneros$34.00Add to cart
The 2017 vintage is nearly identical to the outstanding 2016 harvest! A dry winter followed by a warm, dry spring resulted in excellent berry set and an above average crop. Moderate temperatures throughout the growing season easily brought the fruit to full maturity. The wines of 2017 are elegant, with intense aromas and flavors. A complex nose of cassis, ripe cherry, and black plum; with a hint of vanilla, leather, and white pepper. The mouth is layered with jammy flavors of blackberry, boysenberry, and currants; followed by mineral and cracked black pepper. Mouth-filling tannins provide an opulent finish of fruit and spice.
