Home > Region > Region - California > Cosa Obra Sauvignon Blanc 2019, Hummingbird Hill, Sonoma Coast, USA

Sourced from a small artisan grower located in the eastern slope of the Sonoma Valley known as Fallenleaf Vineyard. The grapes grown at this site possesses a unique tropical varietal characteristic. This enticing Sauvignon Blanc offers aromas of white peach, cantaloupe, and orange blossom complemented by bright citrus, lemon curd and zest. Tropical flavors of kiwi, pineapple, lemon, mango and papaya introduce a rich palate and a persistent mineral finish. A great aperitif, this pairs nicely with just about any seafood dish, and is a great companion with cheese.

Fruit for the 2018 Mohua Sauvignon Blanc was sourced from a selection of vineyards within the Lower Wairau Valley, Rapaura and Southern Valley sub-regions of Marlborough. The fruit was harvested at optimum maturity, gently pressed and cool fermented to stainless steel to retain fruit flavor and freshness. The 2018 Mohua Sauvignon Blanc shows lifted aromas of passion fruit and lime. The palate is luscious with tropical fruit and bright citrus characters. Melon, guava and grapefruit flavors combine with a fresh acidity to give a long lingering finish.

  • Longboard 2019 Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc

    $21.00

Longboard 2019 Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc is the twelth vintage of this classical varietal. Winemaker/Owner (and surfer) Oded Shaked started making this wine after he realized that when he went to lunch, that is the wine he reached out to most often to start a springtime or summer meal. The Russian River Valley grows Sauvignon Blanc that shows tropical fruit but retains enough minerality to keep the wine balanced and vibrant. The wine was minimally processed, with only a small fraction spending time in older (neutral) oak barrels, just enough to add a light layer of creaminess over the core of pear, lychee and citrus flavors. There is a slight floral (Honeysuckle) note in the wine too. This style of Sauvignon Blanc aims to layer the minerality we love in wines from Europe with the great fruit character we are blessed with in California. When released, the wine shows mainly tropical fruit character, balanced by a lively acidity. As it ages over the next few years, some honey and apple pie character will start developing and adding richness and depth to the wine.

Paired with a fresh green salad with fennel shavings and succulent ruby grapefruit sectuibs or with your favorite fresh seafood (try sashimi or a spicy Thai dish), this wine has proved to be quite versatile in pairing with imaginative cuisine.

    $28.00

The “ghosts” honored on the Ghost Block Morgaen Lee Sauvignon Blanc 2019 label are pioneer winemakers who rest in peace in the tiny 150-year-old cemetery near the 100% organic Rock Cairn Vineyard. This bright and silky sur lie aged Sauvignon Blanc exhibits aromas of peach, pineapple, and guava. This wine has lively acidity, with a beautiful citrus backbone. The little Semillon blended in gives the wine a nice mouth feel, along with the sur lie technique. There is an underlying current of dough/yeast — creating a unique singlevineyard style from Yountville. This Sauvignon Blanc has a richer, more complex, silky mouth feel with a hint of white grapefruit on the clean & bright finish.
