Harvey and Harriet Red 2019

Home > Region > Region - California > Harvey and Harriet Red 2019

Eric Jensen of Booker Vineyard and My Favorite Neighbor created this wine in honor of his parents. In a world of overpriced Cabernet blends, Eric’s hardworking, honest, salt-of-the-earth parents would have never been able to drink a decent wine. We believe that every wine-lover needs a case of this in their fridge! This wine is meant to be your every-day drinker. It is perfect to open on a Tuesday night with take-out food, bring over to your neighbor’s house to share at a summer potluck, or open a bottle (guilt-free) to enjoy just one glass while cooking dinner for your family.

At first blush, an exuberant bouquet of candied blueberries, blackberries, jasmine, and orange blossoms jumps out of the glass and demands full attention. Underneath the fruits and flowers lie warm scents of brioche, cocoa and baking spices. The taster is then rewarded with intense cherry, mixed berry and pluot followed by caramel and espresso. The overall sensation is sublime bliss on the palate as the elegant finish slowly fades away. 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Syrah,
10% Petite Sirah, 10% Cabernet Franc, 10% Petit Verdot, 10% Malbec

Tucked into the foothills of Mount Saint Helena on the remote eastern edge of Sonoma County, Knights Valley experiences a moderated climate, offering a longer and later growing season that develops dark fruit aromatics. The 2018 Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is bold with black forest fruit and spiced plum, offering undertones of roasted coffee and crushed rock. Caramel and anise come through on the palate accompanied by broad tannins and a rich and persistent finish.

  • Leviathan Red Wine 2019

    $56.00

Leviathan was founded in 2004 by winemaker Andy Erickson, former winemaker of Screaming Eagle Winery. The goal was simple: to create one, unique red wine, drawn from some of the best vineyards in Northern California. The resulting bottling, was born of a passion for blending Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, to create a full bodied wine with a character all of its own. Since then, we have remained true to our goal of producing a rich, distinctly Californian red blend, year after year.

    One blend. One focus. Leviathan.

The 2018 Leviathan is a big, juicy wine that will appeal to readers who enjoy flashy, extroverted reds. Copious red cherry jam, red plum, spice, vanilla and oak are pushed forward in this flamboyant, racy Cabernet Sauvignon based red.

Born in Lyon France and gaining his education from the University of Bordeaux, Benoit worked at numerous French wineries before getting a job (with the help of his friend and mentor Michel Rolland) in Napa Valley with Andy Erickson. He consulted for the likes of Screaming Eagle, Ovid and Arietta. Today, Benoit is the winemaker for Realm Cellars, Hartwell, and Kata, as well as numerous other labels, including his own project Fait-Main (which translates to “hand-made”). Benoit is the mastermind winemaker who has been awarded eight 100-point scores from Robert Parker for the wines he has produced for Realm, in addition to others we cherish and champion with pride: Jack Quinn, Kata and Fait-Main. He was Andy Erickson’s right hand man at Screaming Eagle back in the day and also the protégé of the world’s top consulting winemaker Michel Rolland. Let’s be crystal clear, he is a ‘Cabernet Genius’ and Teeter-Totter is no exception!

This beauty boasts a saturated purple color as well as a classic bouquet of creme de cassis, licorice, toasted spices, and tobacco. Deep, full-bodied, and powerful, it still has the class and purity of the 2019 vintage front and center.” The 2019 vintage is powerful, well balanced and boasting with fresh aromatics. Pops of blackberry, raspberry and vanilla first grab your attention then invites you into a bouquet of thyme, French lavender and violets. The tannins are soft and smooth, providing an effortless finish. Simply delicious!
