I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas

Home > Region > Region - Oregon > I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas

The Trefethen Chardonnay 2020 wine has fresh and vibrant aromas of sliced green apple, white peach, and honeysuckle with integrated notes of baked apple and puff pastry on the palate. It is round, layered, and complex with a refreshing acidity that leads to a full and lengthy finish.

You’ll enjoy the pale straw color as you pour the Matanzas Creek Sauvignon Blanc 2019 into your glass, followed by inviting aromas of  fresh peaches, white river rocks, white nectarine and hints of ginger.  There is a savory combination of stone fruits including white peach and nectarine coupled with zest of buddha’s hand. Captivating structure paired with complex flavors develop in the glass. A notable lengthy finish is encased in apricots, white peaches and savory ginger which speak to the age-worthy capability of this Sauvignon Blanc.

he Eyrie Vineyards Pinot Gris 2020 offers a medium gold color and intriguing aromas of straw, mango, tangerine and melon, with notes of jasmine and camellia, smoke and loam; after a few minutes in the glass, it unfolds hints of crystallized ginger and candied quince. The wine is supple, almost lush with slightly roasted and quite spicy stone-fruit flavors, tempered by star-bright acidity and a faceted limestone element. The finish brings in some chastening grapefruit astringency.

The 2020 Lang & Reed Chenin Blanc from Mendocino is the fifth vintage from the Norgard Vineyard in Mendocino County in Northern California! The inspiration remains the Loire Valley in France, where Chenin Blanc gained its fame. The source for this bottling comes from a region in Mendocino referred to as the ‘Talmage Bench.’ The vineyard, located on the east side of the Russian River in an area that has excelled in growing Chenin Blanc for many years, was planted in 1980 on a gentle, north-facing slope with excellent aspect that allows for great drainage and even ripening without too much heat accumulation.   This Lang & Reed 2019 Chenin Blanc initially displays aromatic notes of linden blossom, white peach, and wildflower honey. Energetic fruit that mirrors the peach aromas unfolds on the palate with rounding flavors of white melon. The finish exhibits quiet confidence throughout the length of its smooth texture and very long-lasting flavors with just a hint of minerality. The wine, lifted and satisfying, possesses enough depth to gain complexity and nuance with a few years of cellaring.

  • Oakville Winery Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2019, Napa Valley USA

    Add to cart
    $59.00

In 1903 the Pelissa family purchased 35 acres between the Napa River and the Napa Valley Railroad in Calistoga with a single $10 gold coin. Thus began one family's history in the Napa Valley. Today the same family owns approximately 1,000 acres in Napa Valley with over 300 acres designated as a preserve intact with its natural state and 635 acres farmed as certified organic vineyards.  Throughout the 20th century, the family grew and their experience expanded across the valley. Then in 1993 the heirs of the Pelissa family acquired the Oakville Winery property from Heublein – Inglenook.  The winery was originally built in 1877 by two Frenchmen, Jean Adolphe Brun and Jean Chaix and it was the 9th bonded winery in California. The “Brun and Chaix Oakville Winery” passed through various hands in the 20th century and when the Pelissa family acquired it they formed the Napa Wine Company and Bonded Winery #9. The winery and adjacent Pelissa Vineyard, totals 62 acres on the corner of Highway 29 and the Oakville Cross Road. In 2009 the first vintages of Oakville Winery Estate Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel were released. This special Cabernet Sauvignon is a traditional and classic style that reflects old-school Oakville. Aromas of fall spice and cedarwood, along with bright red cherry jump from the glass. The wine evolves
with every swirl, releasing cherry licorice, chai spice, and cedar. The cherry fruit, along with currants an cassis bring this wine to life on your palate. A very well-structured wine with sturdy, yet balanced tannins. The wine will drink well now and over the next10 to 15 years.
