Jayson by Pahlmeyer Pinot Noir 2018
The Jayson 2018 Pinot Noir is rich with a juicy texture. Aromas of root beer and candied marasca cherries lead to subtle notes of cinnamon, vanilla bean and custard. The mouthfeel is concentrated and expansive mid-palate. A youthful acidity brightens the palate, then finishes velvety smooth. This is a fruit-driven, hedonistic, approachable Pinot Noir.

Portalupi Pinot Noir 2019, Dolinsek Ranch, Russian River Valley$59.00
In 1996, Jim Dolinsek purchased the 10.5 acres property located on Laguna road that was then planted with apples and grapes. Jim’s father coincidently used to pick cherries on the ranch in the 30’s. The ranch was originally planted by the Frati family which included Old Vine Zinfandel. The vineyard has a rich Italian history of making field-blends including Alicante bouschet, teraldago, tempranillo, golden chasselas, black muscat and mouverde. The soil is the rich Russian River Valley Gold Ridge soil that provides complexity and muscle to the wines.
Tim Borges of Portalupie Winery has known Jim and his brother for over 30 years and had the good fortune to start working with Dolinsek Ranch with the first vintage of Zinfandel in 2009. In 2013, Portalupi started purchasing the entire crop of Pinot Noir. Portalupi has been producing award winning Old Vine Zinfandel and Pinot Noir since.
Baked bread and compost aromas compete with oak toastiness and ripe dark cherry in this wine, which veers into a beautiful velvety mouthfeel.
Foxen Pinot Noir Block 8 2017, Bien Nacido Vineyard, Santa Maria Valley$68.00
Rich nose; smooth and silky juicy bing cherries and raspberry; mellow, lush and ripe with tangy acidity and lovely structure; elegant, long and racy with a long, pure finish. An incredible, profound Pinot Noir, Foxen's 2017 Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard Block 8 was completely destemmed and aged 17 months in 50% new French oak. Its deep ruby color is followed by sensational notes of sweet cherries, black raspberries, crushed flowers and a touch of licorice. Medium to full-bodied, layered and multi-dimensional, with seamless texture, this is California Pinot Noir at its finest. Drink it any time over the coming 7-8 years. “A powerful, structured wine, the 2017 Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard Block 8 is literally bursting at the seams with explosive energy. A host of savory herbs, smoke, licorice and tobacco open up in the glass, but this is a wine to put a way for a few years, as the elements still need time to come together. The firm, grippy finish and the wine's overall delineation are both striking.” — Antonio Galloni – 95 points
