JNSQ Rose 2020

Home > Region > Region - California > JNSQ Rose 2020

The finest Roses delight, refresh and entertain, offering nothing less than complete joy in a glass whether you are drinking it on its own, or with food.  The JNSQ Rose Cru gives all this an more. It’s a fine wine sourced from carefully selected blocks in some of the finest regions along California’s cool Central Coast. The fruit from each vineyard block is made separately to bring out the absolute best qualities that each site has to offer. Grenache, Pinot Gris, Syrah and Viognier from these blocks are then combined to display a delicate complexity and balance to give something special, je ne sais quoi that is difficult to describe, but immediately recognizable on the first sip.

JNSQ Rosé Cru 2018 is summer in a glass, no matter what the calendar says. Not too sweet, but never bitter, this grenache-forward Rosé is clean and aromatic with a touch of strawberry and hints of Bing cherry. The dynamic flavors are accented with savory herbal and white floral notes that make it crisp and elegant, perfect for sipping by the pool, serving at a barbecue, or toasting over a candlelit dinner.

This wine is balanced, refreshing, and versatile. The graceful texture and clean finish make our Rosé Cru delightful all on its own, but it plays well with a range of foods. The fruit flavors complement light bites, like arugula and goat cheese salad, or fresh bruschetta, while the balanced texture holds its own with savory dishes like roasted branzino or even a prosciutto pizza.

  • Woodenhead Zinfandel 2017, Guido Venturi Vineyard, Mendocino County, USA

    $38.00

The winemaking at Woodenhead is pure and simple. Their wine is handcrafted from a hard labor of love in tune to the natural rhythm of the land, the water, the air, and the seasons. No mechanical pumping is employed. Inoculated yeast and malolactic cultures, hand punching, basket pressing, French oak, and California fruit is what you get. Small and unique lots are their goal, ultra premium wine is the result. Dark, dense, ruby red in color. Bouquet of brandied cherries, raspberries, plums, vine bark, violets and a prune drying shed. Really something as only very old vines can be. Flavors of really ripe boysenberries, red plums, brown sugar and some spice. Full, round and robust. Medium tannins, with a good acidity to balance this wine. A mouthful. Powerful with a big statement but not hot. Will cellar many years given the pH and acidity levels. Amazing that at this stage of the vineyards’ life it has so much to give fruit wise. Perhaps the care of the grower’s hand is the magic. Wood fired anything, chicken, beef, pork or lamb. Simply an awesome Zinfandel. Enjoy it you Zin Dogs!

    80+ year old vines!
