Lange Pinot Noir 2011, Dundee Hills, OR
Lange Winery is one of the first wineries I ever visited in the beautiful Dundee Hills of Oregon. What a treat! Driven by a passion for Pinot Noir and a love of the land, Don and Wendy Lange founded their winery in the Dundee Hills of Oregon’s northern Willamette Valley. The year 1987 marked the Langes’ first vintage.
The 2011 Reserve Pinot Noir is the result of extensive and dedicated barrel tasting by their winemakers, Don Lange and Jesse Lange. Comprised of the most complex and delicious wines in the cellar, this multi-vineyard Pinot Noir is consistently crafted for lush fruit character, seamless balance, and elegance. The 2011 Pinot Noir “Reserve” is very aromatic and high-toned, with notes of black raspberry, dark cherry, bouquet garni herbs, and coffee. The palate has bright yet round notes of dark sweet cherry and raspberry jam, accented by hints of orange peel and cocoa, all wrapped around toasty oak and a core of fine and present tannins.
