Lasseter Family Winery Enjoué 2016
Julia Iantosca has 30 years of winemaking experience in small, premium wineries. She enjoys working with many grape varieties and the challenges that each presents, but she has a particular passion for creating unique blends from traditional Bordeaux and Rhône varieties. This dovetails perfectly with Nancy and John Lasseter’s dream of producing old world blends inspired by the wines of Bordeaux and the Rhône Valley. A blend of estate Syrah, Mourvèdre and Grenache, the name, Enjoué, a French word meaning “joyful; playful; lighthearted; sunny; buoyant; cheerful,” captures the essence of that experience. The Lasseter 2015 Enjoué’s delightful salmon-pink color is the result of red wine grapes made in a white wine style; the definition of classic rosé. The aroma shows notes of strawberry, ruby grapefruit and mango. The zesty acidity, supple texture and a long, lingering finish allow this rosé to pair seamlessly with a wide variety of foods, seducing even the most skeptical red wine drinker. To us, it is a refreshing taste of summer and sunshine even on a winter’s day. 70% Syrah • Clone 470 12% Grenache • Alban Clone 18% Mourvédre. 500 cases produced.
