Leah Jorgensen Sauvignon Blanc 2018, Rogue Valley, OR
The Leah Jorgensen Sauvignon Blanc 2018 is delightful and refreshing wine and atypical in all the right ways. Intensely aromatic, it conveys a lush mix of honeysuckle, sweet hay, smoke, lime and honeydew melon. And that's before you take the first sip. The low alcohol and bright acidity set it up for a wide range of poultry, pasta and seafood options, and anything with goat cheese is sure-fire. Perfect with Spinach Salad and Warm Goat Cheese.

Longboard 2019 Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc
$21.00Longboard 2019 Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc is the twelth vintage of this classical varietal. Winemaker/Owner (and surfer) Oded Shaked started making this wine after he realized that when he went to lunch, that is the wine he reached out to most often to start a springtime or summer meal. The Russian River Valley grows Sauvignon Blanc that shows tropical fruit but retains enough minerality to keep the wine balanced and vibrant. The wine was minimally processed, with only a small fraction spending time in older (neutral) oak barrels, just enough to add a light layer of creaminess over the core of pear, lychee and citrus flavors. There is a slight floral (Honeysuckle) note in the wine too. This style of Sauvignon Blanc aims to layer the minerality we love in wines from Europe with the great fruit character we are blessed with in California. When released, the wine shows mainly tropical fruit character, balanced by a lively acidity. As it ages over the next few years, some honey and apple pie character will start developing and adding richness and depth to the wine.
Paired with a fresh green salad with fennel shavings and succulent ruby grapefruit sectuibs or with your favorite fresh seafood (try sashimi or a spicy Thai dish), this wine has proved to be quite versatile in pairing with imaginative cuisine.

Shooting Star Sauvignon Blanc 2018
$21.00Steele Wines sources the Shooting Star Sauvignon Blanc 2018 fruit from Dorn vineyards in Kelseyville. The Dorn family has been farming since 1965 and Steele has produced their Sauvignon Blanc from their vineyards for 25 years.
Winemaking for this varietal is straightforward. The grapes are picked early morning (before dawn), delivered in the coolest part of the morning, crushed and pressed off the skins. The juice is then settled for 24 hours and racked off the lees. The fermentation begins at a cool 50 degrees and finishes up about 3 weeks later. The stainless-steel fermentation and aging preserves the freshness of this wine.
The Shooting Star Sauvignon Blanc 2018 shows off the great growing region of Lake County, aromas are of guava and citrus zest, with flavors of passionfruit, pineapple, and pink grapefruit. Pair this wine with marinated shrimp, grilled sea bass with asparagus and hollandaise, or a simple crostini of chevre and lemon zest.
