L’Ecole No. 41 Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, Walla Walla Valley
This wine is a blend of seven prestigious vineyard sites representing four unique soil types in the Walla Walla Valley. Its old world structure, dense dark fruit flavors and elegant tannins exemplify the best of Walla Walla. With an elegant, old world structure, this sophisticated Cabernet shows aromas of dark fruit, earth, and fresh herbs. A seamless core of blackberry, plum, and dark cherry mingle with notes of tobacco and leather on a dusty tannin, richly structured finish.

MC4 Cabernet Sauvignon 2016$75.00
The Martin & Croshaw vineyard is located in the St. Helena appellation of Napa Valley. The vines grow in an ideal location on a gently sloping hillside on the west side of the valley with excellent soil (Boomer gravelly loam) for the cultivation of Cabernet Sauvignon. Cabernet Sauvignon clones 337 and 6 were selected for the 2000 vines which are carefully oriented to fully capture the unique terroir of the site. They farm organically, and work is done by shovel and sweat. Irrigation is limited and they selectively thin the grapes to produce a concentrated, full bodied wine. It is a labor of love and of friendship.
The MC4 Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 is a gorgeous wine, sporting a medium to deep garnet-purple color and nose of crushed wild blueberries, black cherries and mulberries with touches of cigar box, baking spices and dark chocolate plus a waft of sage. Medium to full-bodied, the palate features appealing restraint, with taut, muscular fruit and fantastic tension, finishing long and softly textured. This is a relatively new, single-vineyard wine co-produced by two couples—Paul and Lisa Martin and Fred and Darcy Croshaw. The grapes come from a tiny one-acre, organically farmed vineyard to the north of Ehlers Lane in St. Helena. The style of these three vintages tasted is fresh, elegant and understated, possessing bags of energy and expression at what appears to be a very reasonable price.

Sineann Cabernet Sauvignon Baby Poux 2014$47.00
Sineann Cabernet Sauvignon Baby Poux 2014 isn't really a baby anymore. Named back in 1998, it was made from a newer section of the famed Champoux Vineyard. Nearly two decades later, the baby's all grown up. The vines aren't babies anymore, but the name remains. Intense aromas of creamy black cherry, bittersweet chocolate, and a hint of dried herbs. Super dense in the mouth, with flavors echoing the aroma. Cassis and mineral notes emerge with time. Delicious Champoux fruit! The Baby Poux block of Paul Champoux's vineyard combines great Cab intensity with a remarkable approachability that Cabernet just doesn't often deliver. Sineann has used fruit from Baby Poux since it's first year of production and it has always had that approachable quality. Much to our delight, as the vineyard ages (it is now 18 years old) it is growing in depth and complexity. Where will it all lead to? We don't know, but it's fun going along for the ride and it's fun saying Baby Poux!! (This picture is of the 2009 vintage – 2014 pics are hard to find!)
