Mutt Lynch Charbono 2015, Frediani Vineyard, Napa County, CA USA

Home > Region > Region - California > Mutt Lynch Charbono 2015, Frediani Vineyard, Napa County, CA USA

A rare breed indeed – only 118 cases produced! Charbono is a red Italian wine grape variety that has been historically grown in the Savoie wine region of northwest of Italy. California Charbono is planted on less than 100 acres of land in the entire state. Many of the Charbono vines planted are very old, producing a very dense, medium to full bodied wine with a deep, inky purple color and moderate acidity. The Mutt Lynch Charbono 2015, Frediani Vineyard, Napa Valley shows black fruit and plum aromas with delicate leather flavor notes. Charbono – whether you've been a cult follower or are just discovering this unique varietal, you're sure to love this third vintage by Mutt Lynch.

  • Trefethen Dragon Tooth Red Blend 2017

    $75.00

The Red Dragon on the label of the Trefethen Dragon’s Tooth 2017, Napa Valley Red Wine originated in ancient British legend where two dragons—one red, one white—fight in the sky. The boy Merlin watches them with King Vortigern and when the red prevails, driving the white across the sea, the boy foretells the coming of King Arthur who will lead Vortigern’s people, the Welsh, to victory over the invading Saxons.
Rich, yet fresh and bright, the Trefethen Dragon Tooth Red Blend 2018 is incredibly enchanting. This wine opens with expressive aromas of cherry and blackberry accented with notes of fig, tobacco leaf, and sarsaparilla. Full-bodied and balanced, the integrated flavors of ripe dark fruit lead to a lush and abundant finish.
Enjoy the Dragon‘s Tooth with slow cooked peppers and tomatoes for the deep richness that complements this wine perfectly. We suggest pairing with leaner cuts of beef like flank or skirt steak. 49% Malbec, 27% Petit Verdot, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon. 94 Points James Suckling – “A rich, round red with plum, berry, chocolate and walnut character. Lots of cherry flavors. It’s full-bodied with round tannins and a delicious finish.”

  • Stolpman La Cuadrilla 2021

    $27.00

When Tom Stolpman purchased the land that is now Stolpman Vineyards, he declared that if his dream of owning a vineyard was to come true, it would not be on the backs of people being taken advantage of.  He asked vineyard manager Ruben Solorzano to employ our vineyard workers year-round, so the team members could have a steady job, a career, and raise their families with security. A man of action, Ruben started a training program in which he gave one Cuadra – a small vineyard block – to his team so they would take responsibility for their land.  Each crew member became the farmer rather than just the worker. The profits are returned to the crew members in the form of a year-end bonus. The 2021 label honors the founder of Cuadrilla, Ruben Solorzano. Creative Director Kari Crist honors Maria Solorzano and her female crew with the 2021 label titled “Adelita”. The women reinvigorate old vines by training wild shoots into new cordons, train young vines, and remove extra tiny clusters just after bud-break. 2021 Stolpman La Cuadrilla opens with a whole new world of red fruit from crunchy, tangy cranberry through to pure driving ripeness. A cut of lemon from the balancing acidity combines with mint leaves, chocolate, and peppercorns. Tannin lies just under the lingering red fruit finish, creating a tautness to the firm young wine. Already exceedingly pleasurable upon release, the wine evolves from a bright young profile to a richer, hedonistic full body with a few swirls in the glass.
