Mutt Lynch FouFou le Blanc 2020

Home > Region > Region - California > Mutt Lynch FouFou le Blanc 2020

It’s all about the fruit. For her “Dog Series” wines, Brenda has one goal in mind – create fruit-forward wines with varietaly true aromatics, mid palate weight and flavor, and a medium to full-bodied, balanced finish. Brenda sources her fruit from a variety of appellations within California always letting the quality of the fruit drive her selections. Her travels always seem to have stops in beach towns for a cold beer at the local pub, which she claims are an equally important part of her winemaking! The Mutt Lynch 2020 Fou Fou Le Blanc shows a brilliant straw yellow color in the glass and opens to delicate aromas of melon and citrus. Crisp and fresh with the balance and structure our white wine fans have come to love, the 2020 Fou Fou Le Blanc Sauvignon Blanc will be welcomed as another standout release. The mid palate flavors of melon, pear and citrus are delicate and elegant. Near perfect acidity gives it the structure that delivers a clean and fresh finish.100% stainless steel, she lets the fruit speak (or bark) for itself. Pair this lovely wine with your favorite recipe for any white fish like sole or flounder and you can’t go wrong. As the label reads… She’s amazing, she’s eccentric, some might even say barking mad!  That’s Fou Fou le Blanc!

    $37.00

Piocho Ranch was acquired by Thomas J. Barrack Jr. in 1992. Out of a love for the countryside and a ranchers life, the Barrack family developed rolling acres of vineyards. The peaceful and beautiful property sits nestled in the Happy Canyon Valley, a perfect location for growing grapes and riding horses. Two regulation sized Polo fields are groomed with the same care as the finest golf courses in the world. Piocho means “Where the two rivers meet and go to heaven.” The 2018 vintage is one of the greats. The fruit reached perfect physiological ripeness retaining natural grape acidity resulting in very balanced wines with low alcohol and rich concentrated varietal flavors. Aromatically, the wine is uplifting, with notes of plum, ceder, bing cherry, berry pie and hints of earth and red clay. On the palate the wine is fruitful, exuberant, with red plum and blackberry. The wine continues with fine-grain tannins, saddle leather and wonderful savory notes. The finish is long and satisfying with lingering dusty tannins and expressive resolved fruit. The wine is wonderful to drink today and will continue to evolve in balance, length and complexity as the more structured Cabernet Sauvignon matures. This wine will continue to develop and excel over the next ten years. This a truly lovely wine that is wonderful to drink today when paired with big rich cuisine such as Santa Maria Tri-Tip.  The wines structure will allow it to mature and age nicely for at least another decade! Dusty, slow-building tannins give grip to the finish, which repeats the cherry and licorice notes.

The Mauritson 2019 Dry Creek Zin is a little bit riper than previous vintages, but it carries its concentration and dried-fruit elements with incredible poise. Black-fruit aromas dusted with sweet baking spices co-mingle with star anise. The entry has inviting fruit, followed by a dense and full-bodied mid-palate with chewy tannins and a nice long finish with beautiful freshness. Enjoy for the next 7-10 years

The Happy Canyon “Piocho” Sauvignon Blanc 2019 exhibits floral aromas with a hint of brioche toast, honeysuckle, figs and a zesty citrus note. The Sauvignon Blanc provides a lift and perfect accompaniment to the Semillon with varietal aromas of grass and tropical fruit. The wine shows pear and apple with nice wood tones with creaminess on the mid-palate that gives way to a hint of vanilla. It delivers a very rich mouth feel with a good acid backbone. Smoothly balances energy and weight and finishes with excellent clarity and mineral-driven persistence.
