Rabble Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Home > Region > Region - California > Rabble Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

The Rabble Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 comes from the Mossfire Ranch in Paso Robles.  Mossfire Ranch is a scenic 320-acre property on the Pleasant Valley Wine Trail, in the eastern side of the Paso Robles AVA. Admired for its striking beauty, epic views and superior fruit, the 243 planted acres boast an eclectic mix of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Zinfandel and Tempranillo. A farmer’s fist full of blueberry pie sprinkled with cinnamon spice. Concentrated blue fruit explodes with boysenberry giving way to anise, clove, subtle smoky wet earth. Velvet tannins balance the juicy mouth feel and a finish that lasts late into the evening.

    $37.00

Piocho Ranch was acquired by Thomas J. Barrack Jr. in 1992. Out of a love for the countryside and a ranchers life, the Barrack family developed rolling acres of vineyards. The peaceful and beautiful property sits nestled in the Happy Canyon Valley, a perfect location for growing grapes and riding horses. Two regulation sized Polo fields are groomed with the same care as the finest golf courses in the world. Piocho means “Where the two rivers meet and go to heaven.” The 2018 vintage is one of the greats. The fruit reached perfect physiological ripeness retaining natural grape acidity resulting in very balanced wines with low alcohol and rich concentrated varietal flavors. Aromatically, the wine is uplifting, with notes of plum, ceder, bing cherry, berry pie and hints of earth and red clay. On the palate the wine is fruitful, exuberant, with red plum and blackberry. The wine continues with fine-grain tannins, saddle leather and wonderful savory notes. The finish is long and satisfying with lingering dusty tannins and expressive resolved fruit. The wine is wonderful to drink today and will continue to evolve in balance, length and complexity as the more structured Cabernet Sauvignon matures. This wine will continue to develop and excel over the next ten years. This a truly lovely wine that is wonderful to drink today when paired with big rich cuisine such as Santa Maria Tri-Tip.  The wines structure will allow it to mature and age nicely for at least another decade! Dusty, slow-building tannins give grip to the finish, which repeats the cherry and licorice notes.

  • Madrigal Cabernet Sauvignon 2019, Napa Valley, CA

    $49.00

Since the late 1930’s, three generations of the Madrigal family have farmed some of Napa Valley’s finest vineyards. Chris Madrigal’s father, Jess, a retired member of the US military, started the family’s vineyard management company that today manages over 800 acres. In 1985 – the same year that Chris began to work with his father’s vineyard management company – they began overseeing the vineyards of Clos Pegase and Duckhorn wineries and growing grapes for other premium wineries including Cakebread Cellars and Chateau Montelena. As their reputation soared and while still working the vineyards as often as seven days a week, Chris realized his dream of establishing the family’s own winery. From the outstanding 2019 vintage, this is a big, rich Napa Valley Cabernet with dark fruit and spice aromas and a hearty core of currant and black cherry flavors. The Madrigal Cabernet Sauvignon 2019, Napa Valley has all of the Bordeaux varietals in it (75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Petit Verdot, 8% Cabernet Franc, 3% Malbec, 2% Merlot and comes from Madrigal’s Vineyard and Levine Vineyard on Atlas Peak. The wine has excellent balance, soft tannins and a long, delicious finish. 1461 cases produced.
