Rabble Pinot Gris 2017
At the confluence of sun, snow, stream and sea is MurMur Vineyard. Planted in 2008 on south facing sandy slopes, the vineyard weathers 25 degree diurnal shifts, snow dustings, summer sun and bitter winds. The extremity of the climate creates fruit of uncommon concentration and uniform ripeness. Late morning fog, continually cool days and chilling afternoon winds add to a delicate yet flavorful wine. The 2017 Rabble Pinot Gris has a light golden color and a complex, fruit-scented nose that reveals layers of mango, jasmine tea, cinnamon, and cantaloupe. Smooth, light toasted walnut and honey balance the fruits, and give way to a crisp, lingering finish full of freshly cut grass and peaches.
