TheWonderland Project Two Kings Pinot Noir 2018, Sonoma County
The Wonderland Project was founded in 2010 by wine broker and former sommelier, Matt Ahern with the help of pedigreed Sonoma grape growers. The Wonderland Project produces Sonoma County Appellation Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from organically farmed vineyards in Carneros. We rely on native yeast fermentations and minimal interventionist methods. We celebrate California . . . the way it once was.
The Wonderland Project Two Kings Pinot Noir comes from the Sandbach (Blk 1) and Sangiacomo (Blk 14) vineyards in the Carneros AVA. While ‘Two Kings’ is an ode to California wines of the past, this bright, approachable red is sure to be your new house Pinot. Its focus on organic grape growing and native yeast fermentation is a trend in California today that’s sure to excite wine-lovers of all levels. Fruit ferments with native yeasts and 15% whole clusters followed by six months of aging in French oak (15% of which is new). Notes of ripe black cherries, peppercorn, and dried rose petals dominate this elegant yet flavor-packed palate. This is a bright, approachable Pinot Noir made with flavors of crushed strawberries, black cherry, and sweet smoke.
