Trecini Vermentino 2016
Vermentino (“vur-men-teeno”) is a light-bodied white wine that grows mostly in Italy on the island of Sardinia. What’s exciting about Vermentino is it can be deliciously complex in taste.
The color is bright, straw yellow with greenish hints. The bouquet is delicate and elegant, with nuances ranging from white fruit to Sardinian aromatic herbs, including rosemary and thyme. The palate is soft, fruity and lively. A glass of classic Trecini Vermentino 2016 offers up lively aromas of pear, white peach, lime and pink grapefruit with subtle notes of crushed rocks and citrus zest. On the palate, it is almost dry and somewhat creamy with flavors of grapefruit and citrus, with a crushed rocky minerality and saltiness. On the finish, there's a touch of fresh almond. It's a good wine enjoyable and easy to drink.
