Schug Chardonnay 2016, Sonoma Coast, California, USA$29.00Add to cart
Schug crafted this Chardonnay from select vineyards located in the Sonoma Coast appellation, including the microclimates of western Carneros, southern Sonoma Valley and the Petaluma Gap. Produced in a lively, crisp style that emphasizes varietal character without the use of new oak, it has a spicy citrus bouquet that leads to juicy flavors of white peach and nectarine, followed by a sleek, juicy finish. Try it as an elegant aperitif paired with hors d’oeuvres, or with lighter dishes such as soups, salads, seafood and pasta dishes.
Melville Vineyards Chardonnay, Verna’s Vineyard 2013$25.00Add to cart
This wine is 100% from Verna’s Vineyard in Los Alamos and is a combination of clones 4, 76, 95, 96 and selections Mount Eden and Hudson. Like their Sta. Rita Hills vineyard, Verna’s Vineyard also endures very windy conditions and is planted on extremely sandy and porous soils. Pale gold in color, with aromatics of toasted almond, apricot, grilled lemon and
mandarin orange creamsicle coming forward initially. Secondary notes of fresh thyme, cheese rind and dried apricot also drift in the background. Oily and tender on the palate, with a streak of vibrant acidity that maintains the wine’s focus and drive.
